Treatment and Care in Tennessee
Receiving a diagnosis can bring questions about treatment, next steps, cost, privacy, and what to expect. LifeLine Health helps Tennessee patients understand their diagnosis, explore appropriate treatment options, and stay connected with follow-up care and support.
Treatment is individualized. A healthcare provider will consider your diagnosis, medical history, laboratory results, current medications, and other relevant clinical factors before recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
Hepatitis C Treatment
Hepatitis C is highly treatable. Modern medications called direct-acting antivirals, or DAAs, cure hepatitis C in most people, with many treatment regimens lasting approximately 8 to 12 weeks.
If testing confirms an active hepatitis C infection, a healthcare provider can evaluate your medical history, laboratory results, liver health, current medications, previous treatment, and other relevant factors before determining an appropriate treatment approach.
Hepatitis C care may include:
- Confirmation of an active hepatitis C infection
- Evaluation of liver health and other relevant clinical information
- Review of current medications and potential interactions
- An individualized treatment plan
- Appropriate monitoring during treatment
- Post-treatment laboratory testing
After treatment, follow-up HCV RNA testing is used to determine whether the infection has been successfully cleared. A sustained virologic response, or SVR, occurs when hepatitis C virus remains undetectable in the blood 12 weeks or more after treatment and is considered a cure of the infection.

HIV Treatment and Ongoing Care
HIV is treatable. With effective antiretroviral treatment and appropriate follow-up, people living with HIV can achieve and maintain viral suppression and live long, healthy lives.
HIV treatment is individualized based on a patient’s health, laboratory results, current medications, and other clinical circumstances. Ongoing care may include medication management, viral load testing, other laboratory monitoring, and appropriate follow-up.
A person living with HIV who takes treatment as prescribed and achieves and maintains an undetectable viral load does not sexually transmit HIV. This is known as U=U, or Undetectable Equals Untransmittable.

STI Treatment
Many sexually transmitted infections can be effectively treated, while others can be managed with appropriate medical care. The appropriate treatment depends on the specific infection, test results, symptoms, medical history, and other individual circumstances.
If STI testing identifies an infection, a healthcare provider can explain what the result means and recommend appropriate next steps. Depending on the diagnosis, this may include:
- Prescription medication when appropriate
- Additional testing
- Guidance about sexual activity during treatment
- Information about partner testing or notification
- Follow-up or repeat testing when recommended

- Clear explanations of your diagnosis and treatment options
- Education about prescribed medications
- Appropriate clinical follow-up and laboratory monitoring
- Help understanding insurance, medication access, or available assistance resources
- Care coordination when additional healthcare services are needed
Help With Access to Treatment
Insurance coverage, medication costs, and eligibility for assistance programs can vary. LifeLine Health can help patients understand available resources and explore insurance coverage, pharmacy coordination, prior authorization requirements, or financial assistance programs when appropriate.
Availability and eligibility depend on the services provided and each patient’s individual circumstances.
Telehealth and Follow-Up Care
Telehealth may be available for certain consultations, treatment planning, results discussions, and follow-up services. Laboratory testing, specimen collection, and other aspects of care may require an in-person visit to an appropriate laboratory or healthcare facility.
Your healthcare provider can explain which parts of your care may be completed remotely and which services require in-person testing or evaluation.
Respectful, Patient-Centered Treatment
LifeLine Health works to provide compassionate, respectful care focused on each patient’s health and individual circumstances. Concerns about stigma, previous healthcare experiences, or uncertainty about treatment should not prevent someone from asking questions and learning about their options.
Our goal is to help patients understand their diagnosis, make informed decisions about treatment, and stay connected with appropriate care.
